About the Inn

The Bluff House is open year round. Our seasonal rates begin on June 1st and end October 31st. We have hosted many weddings and family get-togethers, however, we are limited to approximately 30 people. We will offer a lobster bake on Saturday nights for our guests for a cost of $25.00 per person. All rates are based on double occupancy with a $10.00 charge for each additional person. Pet friendly rooms are available.

Our Inn was built in 1980 on a lovely site high above Frenchman Bay which reaches many beautiful little islands and leads to the Atlantic Ocean.   The Inn's construction is beautifully rustic and speaks of classic Maine as it features exposed beams, knotty pine ceilings and lots of glass.  Here at the Bluff House, you will find the only inn such as this that sits atop a bluff.  Guests enjoy the two large wraparound decks which have seating and romantic bistro tables from where extraordinary views of Frenchman Bay can be taken in.  The Inn provides westerly views across the bay which provides guests the opportunity to experience exceptionally beautiful sunsets while enjoying a favorite beverage or meal.

Inside are three separate and comfortable lounge areas with fireplaces, comfy chairs and sofas, TV, phone, books, magazines and area information. We also have a variety of games and we offer free wifi service. Our lounge areas, dining room, and wraparound decks are for our guest's enjoyment, as well as our entirely unique shorefront property which is accessed from a lovely stroll laced with strawberries and wild gardens and several benches for your relaxation.

Our local area offers an assortment of recreational activities, all of which are surrounded by the unique features of Downeast Maine. There are novelty and antique shops, local craftsmen, farms and quaint little fishing villages.

We are just three miles from the entrance of the Schoodic Section of Acadia National Park, and approximately one hour's drive to Bar Harbor Maine.

We look forward to your visit.
